I created the world’s first flamethrower violin
Coming home from my first semester of university with a regained interest in classical music, I decided to start playing the violin again, which I had quit in sixth grade.
However, I felt that my 8 year old violin needed a bit of “spice”, so I decided to create the world’s first violin that shoots fires out of its end.
Powered by a 14.1 oz. propane tank, I used a 12V solenoid hooked up to an arduino relay and microphone that would detect if I played with enough vibrato. If a certain condition was met, then it would shoot flames out of the end, providing my audience with a nice surprise!
